Thereby, Vietnam places 11th in the World (in the group with an increase of 10% to 25%). The top countries also include: Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Croatia, USA, France, Canada, Netherlands, Philippines.

Only Vietnam and the Philippines are countries in Southeast Asia in the top countries in demand in the world, leaving other countries in the region far behind: Thailand (24), Singapore (33), Indonesia (44), and Malaysia (45).

The most searched foreign markets for Vietnam tourism include: USA, Japan, Australia, Singapore, India, Thailand, France, Germany, UK, Korea.

In the first 4 months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed nearly 3.7 million international visitor arrivals, exceeding the figure in 2022, reaching nearly 50% of the planned target in 2023. With this positive signal, there is a high chance for the international tourism market to grow in 2023, especially in the peak season in the last months of the year.

Among the leading markets, South Korea will yet be the largest source market of Vietnam tourism. Since the two countries have upgraded their comprehensive strategic partnership, the National Tourism Organisations  of two countries signed a MoU on tourism cooperation period of 2023 - 2024, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam is expected to soar in the upcoming time.

China stands 3rd, and will recover at a faster rate than other markets due to the large market size. The demand will increase after the country restores international tourism activities. The Chinese visitor market is expected to recover faster from the summer of 2023 and increase sharply in October (Golden Week, the long National Day holiday) and the last months of this year.

Markets such as Australia and India are countries sending large numbers of visitors to Vietnam, thanks to the operations of direct flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet, connecting major cities. In Southeast Asia, the markets of Thailand and Cambodia are showing good recoveries, similar to the time before the Covid-19, and are expected to continue to maintain the growth momentum with the advantage of the market near Vietnam.
