The Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and the Environment is developing a draft Action Plan to implement Vietnam's sustainable development goals by 2030 in the area of natural resources and environment.

This is the task to follow the Prime Minister's Decision No. 622 / QĐ-TTg dated May 10, 2017 promulgating the National Action Plan to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The overall goal of the plan is to contribute to ensuring a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages through the preservation, protection and improvement of the quality of the environment; ensure adequate supply and sustainable management of water resources; promote sustainable production and consumption; timely and effectively respond to climate change and natural disasters; promote conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources; conserve biodiversity, develop ecosystem services.

In preparation of this draft, from early February, 2018, the Institute organized consultations of representatives of MONRE units assigned to implement the Action Plan.

On March 7, 2018, the Institute continued to cooperate with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) to organize a consultative workshop with the participation of many experts at home and abroad. Participants discussed the structure of the draft action plan; targets, indicators for monitoring and evaluation; tasks, solutions and other issues.
