Making beach tourism more inviting

Update: 12/11/2018
Recently, Da Nang has been voted one of the country’s inviting destinations for both domestic and foreign visitors by many international prestigious travel websites.

A sand sculpture contest, which was one of a series of activities in the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2018, attracted a great deal of attention from visitors

According to Agoda.com, a leading hotel reservation site, Da Nang is very inviting to domestic and foreign visitors thanks to its peaceful and beautiful beaches with their soft white sand and clear blue water, and its professional sea-related tourism support services in addition to local amazing landscapes.

Moreover, the city is now home to numerous seaside hotels and resorts that are offering their services at reasonable prices. In addition, the maritime security and the ultimate safety of both locals and visitors, have been ensured.

During the city’s peak summer tourism season between March and late September, numerous exciting outdoor activities were held in the locality, including the Beach Tourism Season and the Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous programme.

Notably, visitors to the city during the peak season had the opportunity to try seafood, participate in such traditional folk games as coracle racing, fishing net knitting, fish carrying, and paragliding, as well as enjoy fascinating musical performances.

In addition to increasing the quantity and quality of entertainment activities and watersports, the city has paid special attention to tightening the management of eating and drinking service providers, and organising the maritime search and rescue activities more professionally.

Mr Le Tan Thanh Tung, the Deputy General Director of the city-based Vitours, said most of domestic and foreign visitors booking tours through his travel agency show keen interest in staying at seaside hotels. He added going swimming and walking along beaches become an indispensable demand for them while staying in Da Nang.

The Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, Mr Phan Minh Hai, remarked the Tourism Department has developed long-term plans on enhancing maritime tourism infrastructure and the quality of advertising activities in a bid to make beach tourism services more professional.

The focus will be on appealing for investment from the general public into building a floating water park for children and coastal public toilets with fees, placing warning signs in many foreign languages, offering free wireless internet and mobile phone chargers, and installing online payment system.

In an effort to make the Nguyen Tat Thanh sea route different from the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa route, appeals for investment have been made to building general service clusters with bars, coffee shops, outdoor spaces on beaches offering tents, camping, cuisine and yoga classes in Lien Chieu District.

Also, several water sports will be offered in Thanh Khe District, whilst public bathing areas will be created on the northern side of the Xuan Thieu Beach.

“We are making video clips and creating photo collections to advertise the beauty of local beaches on media channels and social networks in order to enhance the professionalism of the beach tourism”, Mr Hai underlined.
