(TITC) – On 25 December 2018, Thua Thien Hue Tourism Department received 20 smart and environmentally friendly rubbish bins from Bridgestone Vietnam Tire Trading Co., Ltd.
Four of the 20 bins are powered by solar energy and they make various sound and light signals to alert users when they are full. The bins have capacity of 120 litres each and have separate boxes to facilitate waste sorting.
In addition, all 20 garbage bins were given with reflective decal mounted on a gray painted background to match the ancient scenery of the cultural heritage and common landscape of Hue Imperial City.
In the coming time, the smart rubbish bins will be installed in the Citadel, tombs and some suitable locations on the wharf, tourist bus station in Hue city to serve the local people and tourists.
