Two new destinations in Cao Bang attract strong interest from investors and visitors

Update: 07/08/2019
Bai Tinh grassland and Nam Ngua waterfall, in the northern province of Cao Bang, have risen into attractive tourist sites that have drawn much interest from both investors and visitors to the locality alike.

Covering around 100 hectares in Thanh Long commune, Bai Tinh grassland lures holidaymakers with its pristine natural landscape. Coming to the site, visitors can breathe in fresh wild wind and watch buffalos eating grass and the ducks swimming on a lake.

In addition, vacationers can also experience the indigenous cultural identity of the local Dao ethnic group, including the craft of silver carving and the art of making worshipping paintings.

According to Chairman of Thanh Long commune People’s Committee, Do The Giap, several investors have shown their attention to Bai Tinh’s tourism potential and they are planning to launch an off road racing service and paintball game in the site.

The commune’s authorities have taken measures to raise local people’s awareness of protecting the natural landscape and the environment, ensure sustainability in tourism development, and launch homestay services to meet tourists’ demands.

Meanwhile, Ngam Ngua waterfall in Ngoc Dong commune, Thong Nong district, was formed from groundwater inside Nam Ngua mountain. In the distance, the 100-metre tall waterfall can be seen like a ribbon of white silk on the green background of the forest.

Recognising the increasing number of tourists to the site, Sam Van Tung of Nam Ngua village opened a homestay in 2015, which welcomes several hundreds of foreigners annually.

Vice Chairman of Thong Nong district People’s Committee, Vuong Van Thuan, said that the district’s authorities have organised tours for foreigners to Nam Ngua waterfall and Bai Tinh grassland, and have received positive feedback.

Tourism activities in Cao Bang have significantly contributed to improving the income of the locals. The province has welcomed over 750,000 travellers and earned around VND207 billion in tourism revenue in the first half of this year.
