Tay Giang tourism says no to plastic waste

Tay Giang district (Quang Nam province) has just launched a campaign against plastic waste to protect environment, especially in local community eco-tourism areas.

Over the years, tourism has been considered as one of the  key economic sectors in Tay Giang district. However, plastic waste can damge natural landscapes and fresh environment here. This campaign aims to raise the local and touists’ awareness of the risks of plastic waste. So, plastic waste will be eradicated step by step in Tay Giang, especially in local tourism destinations such as Co Tu traditional village, Pomu ancient village, Alieng rest stop, community tourism areas of Talang, Po’ning.

In Po’ning’s community tourism village (Lang commune), plastic tools such as spoons, bags, mugs, bowls are replaced by bamboo and leaves products. Ploong Plenh, owner of this tourism destination said, organic products are made by local people to replace plastic things. These products are both used and sold to tourists, contributing to environmental protection. It is very useful.
