VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ngo Hoai Chung attends Tree planting festival in Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism

(TITC) - On March 11, the launching ceremony of "Tree planting festival in gratitude to Uncle Ho" was held at Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in response to the Government’s programme on planting one billion trees to 2025. Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ngo Hoai Chung attended this event.

The event attracted the participation of representatives of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism...

The tree planting is a good custom, a meaningful cultural activity being responded by people through country.

The tree plantation has played an important role in preventing natural disasters, improving the quality of the environment, and bettering local livelihoods as well as amidst global warming, climate change and sea level rise.

On November 28, 1959, President Ho Chi Minh wrote an article which was published on Nhan dan (People) newspaper, stressing the significance of tree planting. It has since become an annual festival of the Vietnamese at the beginning of a Lunar New Year.
