With its nature, climate, population, and culture, Muong Long commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province is often called a “mini Sa Pa.” Local people are exploiting its natural potential to develop tourism, attract visitors, create jobs, and ensure stable incomes.
Muong Long commune is stationed at an altitude of nearly 1,500m, nestled in a flat valley surrounded by high mountains. It is home to H’mong ethnic people, who have preserved their unique cultural traditions for generations. In addition, the area also enjoys a cool climate year-round.

In Muong Long, visitors can experience all four seasons in a day. Even during Nghe An’s scorching summers, this H’mong ethnic region remains cool and pleasant. The locals are hard-working farmers, cultivating green vegetables, apples, plums, and peaches. They also preserve their traditions such as folk dances, local specialties, among others.

Recognizing Muong Long’s natural and cultural potential, investors and locals have developed tourism through resorts and homestays. Nguyen Duy Linh from Vinh city invested significantly in building Muong Long Eco Garden, a luxurious complex for hundreds of guests.
Notably, all 12 staff members are local H’mong people. They have been carefully selected by Nguyen Duy Linh and trained by tourism experts, ensuring high-quality service with position-based salaries.

Lau Y Vi, who graduated from Ha Noi Law University, chose to return home to work at Muong Long Eco Garden. She shared that although it’s not her field of study, working in her hometown and contributing to its development makes her happy. Two other university graduates also work here.
Besides, Nguyen Duy Linh also supports locals in developing homestay services. Currently, five H’mong households in Muong Long regularly welcomes visitors. This tourism model brings hope for the economic growth of Nghe An’s highland areas.

Va Cha Xa, Chairman of Muong Long commune People’s Committee, noted that tourism has created jobs and boosted local agricultural development. Locals are actively planting peach and plum trees, creating beautiful landscapes, and practicing cultural performances to welcome visitors.
