(TITC) - As a part of the activities series in the Visit Vietnam Year 2022, on 26th March, the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Quang Nam Tourism Association organised a ceremony to announce the Set of green tourism criteria and the Green tourism week 2022.
The Set of green tourism criteria of Quang Nam was developed under the support of Swiss Sustainable Tourism Programme (SSTP), based on 25 sets of international criteria for reference and adjustment to suit local practices. The criteria set consists of 6 domain types: hotel, homestay, ecosystem resort, community-based tourism site, travel and attraction.
The participation of implementing the criteria set helps the businesses to reduce operating costs while ensuring the quality of services and products, build a sustainable brand, and contribute to environmental protection, bring benefits to the community.
At the same time, Quang Nam Tourism Association also announced the Green tourism week 2022 with the aim of locating Quang Nam - a green tourism destination, creating a great opportunity to connect, promote and stimulate tourism destinations in Quang Nam Province.
Thereby, the Quang Nam green tourism week will take place from 7th to 11th September 2022. At the event, there will be an international green tourism fair expected to bring together 200 Vietnamese and 100 foreign travel agencies; a forum to share experiences, predict green tourism trends in the world; display and introduce green tourism products, organic goods of the provinces and cities, etc. Quang Nam Green Tourism Week will be held annually or every 2 years depending on the actual situation.
In the evening same day, the Opening ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 took place at Hoi An Memories Island, opening the chain of exciting activities of Quang Nam Province in particular and the tourism industry in general. This is one of the most important tourism events of the tourism industry of the year; especially in the context that the whole industry is putting every effort into implementing solutions to recover after Vietnam has resumed fully tourism activities from 15th March according to the policy of the Government.
