(TITC) - Recently, in Binh Thuan Province, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Province co-presided meeting on the organisation for the Visit Vietnam Year 2023.

Previously, in February 2022, on the basis of Binh Thuan’s proposal to organise the Visit Vietnam Year 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) had a meeting with the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Province and finalised that Binh Thuan Province will be the host of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023.
At the meeting, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc, Director of the Tourism Marketing Department (under VNAT) reported on the process of coordinating the implementation of the preparation and some work tasks that need to be implemented in the coming time in Binh Thuan Province. Regarding the tourism product development, Director of Travel Department (VNAT) Nguyen Quy Phuong said, it is necessary to develop new tourism products, renew the existing products and diversify venues, not only focusing on Phan Thiet City - provincial capital.
Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported the plan and responding activities, in which focusing on international activities. The Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed national-scale activities in the Visit Vietnam Year.
Speaking at the meeting, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh indicated that responding activities for the Visit Vietnam Year should be held neatly, focusing on large-scale, interconnected, inter-regional, inter-local events with high pervasiveness and promotion. Research the possibility of hosting major international tourism activities, MICE events... in locality. Enhancing responding activities integrated with the theme of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023; it is necessary to have a combination of 3 areas: culture, sports and tourism.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh highly praised the efforts of Binh Thuan tourism industry in restoring tourism under the new normal. He suggested the province continue to research and issue supporting policies for businesses in the area, actively implement promotion, develop new tourism products, and promote the application of digital transformation technology in tourism activities; actively participate in promotion activities with VNAT.
