The week-long Hue Festival 2022 was kicked off on June 25 evening by a unique art programme and an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional gown) show.

Attending the program were Politburo member, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Council of Theoretical Studies, Nguyen Xuan Thang; together with the leaders of the Central Committees, Ministries, and Branches.
With regards to provincial leaders, there were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong.
The program lasted 90 minutes, with the theme "Peaceful country". The program was divided into 3 parts: Urban poem; Convergence of quintessences, and Hue - the Green City. Many art performances showed the unique features of Hue and its integration - development. The opening program was also a combination of a unique Ao Dai fashion show and advanced lighting technology effects and special artistic fireworks.
Speaking at the opening of Hue Festival Week 2022, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2022 - Nguyen Thanh Binh said that, over the past 20 years, Hue Festival with its brand value has been an art and culture festival of national and international scale, contributing to introducing the cultural quintessence of Hue, promoting a beautiful, safe and friendly destination Hue ancient capital - Vietnam, driving economic and social development of Thua Thien Hue province.
In order to continue promoting the Hue Festival brand name, striving for the participation of the community, Thua Thien Hue province organizes Hue Festival with the orientation of four - season festival. Included are traditional festivals from the royal court, folklore, and religion, to contemporary art that are spread throughout the year, suitable to local realities, creating favorable conditions for visitors and the public to participate.
“The theme is “Cultural heritage with integration and development”, with the motto of keeping the traditional core but expressing in new ways. The convergence of quintessences representing regional and national cultural identities is associated with international cultural exchanges and cooperation. This promotes community participation from the people and tourists. Hue Festival 2022 will continue to affirm the determination to build Hue into the Festival city of Asia, worthy of being one of the unique cultural and tourist centers of Vietnam", said Head of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2022 - Nguyen Thanh Binh.
