(TITC) - On 4th October, in Ha Noi, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with Mr. Robert Bradley, Senior Vice President of CNN International on promoting Vietnam tourism in the upcoming time.
At the meeting, Mr. Robert Bradley, Senior Vice President of CNN International sent his congratulation to VNAT for winning Asia’s Leading Tourist Board 2022 and several prestigious awards for Vietnam tourism at World Travel Awards 2022.
According to Mr. Robert Bradley, the last few years have been difficult for world tourism in general and Vietnam’s in particular. However, it is now exciting and enriching to see the world, and wonderful destinations such as Vietnam, open up again for tourism. Therefore, CNN sees this as the ideal moment for CNN and VNAT to resume the long-term and efficient partnership promoting Vietnam tourism to global audiences as well as welcome back international tourists to Vietnam.
As a strategic partnership, CNN hopes this meeting with VNAT will be a great opportunity to share expertise on latest trends and new opportunities as well as to further discuss the partnership for 2022 and upcoming years.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh expressed his gratitude towards the keenness and love of CNN International for Vietnam. In the past, VNAT and CNN had coordinated in some projects to promote tourism to regional and world markets. Particularly, in 2021, a clip to promote Vietnam tourism was aired on CNN channel and has created an extremely blazing effect, well-known among international friends.
Vietnam has officially restored international tourism from 15th March 2022. In a short time after the restoration, Vietnam domestic tourism had a robust bounce back with 87 million visitor arrivals in the first 9 months, exceeding the set goal for 2022. Vietnam welcomed over 1.8 million international arrivals and is expecting to welcome 5 million international arrivals this year. In order to achieve the target, VNAT has coordinated with relevant units to implement media campaigns to promote Vietnam tourism, including upholding promotional activities on major international broadcasting channels such as CNN International.

Also, VNAT has been planning a project to proceed with Vietnam tourism promotional activities on CNN. VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that through cooperation with CNN, communication activities to Vietnam's target markets will be highly effective. He further requested CNN to support and offer preferential policies for the Vietnam tourism industry in promotional activities, delivering the image of the country and people of Vietnam on CNN networks.

Mr. Robert Bradley stated, the pandemic changes the way of travelling of international tourists, currently, visitors prefer a slow travel with a short time and tend to choose rural or agricultural areas as their destinations. With a huge potential that Vietnam has been holding right now, plus the strong domestic tourism market, all together, has created a solid background to promote the recovery and development of the international tourism market.
There is a huge amount of staff in CNN to support and ensure the promotional campaign of Vietnam tourism works well and successfully, making full use of digital technology, igniting the charming image of Vietnam tourism worldwide. CNN’s Senior Vice President emphasised, it is crucial to ensure every video clip promoting Vietnam tourism covers a story about the destinations, beauty and value of a rich cultural and historical country.
At the meeting, both sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in organising a number of tourism promotion events in Vietnam and some key markets in 2023.
