With the theme “Cultural colors of ethnic groups in the Northwest”, the 15th Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ethnic Minorities in the Northwest in 2022 will take place on November 2-4 in Phu Tho. Seven localities participating in the festival include: Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Son La and Yen Bai.

According to Plan No. 4096/KH-UBND of the Provincial People“s Committee dated October 14, 2022 on organizing the program to host the 15th Northwest Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in 2022, the Opening Ceremony The festival with the theme ”Rainbow on the Land of the Ancestors" will take place on the evening of November 2 at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City. Closing ceremony, summarizing the Festival and awarding the host flag to Yen Bai province will take place on the evening of November 4 at the Provincial Convention Center.
Many attractive activities, imbued with ethnic identities will take place within the framework of the festival program such as: incense offering ceremony in memory of Hung Kings at Hung Temple Historic Site; performing, introducing excerpts of festivals, rituals of traditional cultural activities of the nation; display, introduce and promote local cultural products and traditional cuisine; the exhibition “Cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Northwest”, “Beautiful photos of Northwest tourism” in 2022; mass cultural festival and costume performance of ethnic groups in the Northwest; compete in ethnic sports such as tug of war, stick push, crossbow shooting, etc.
The 15th Northwest Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2022 aims to honor the fine traditional cultural values of the peoples of the Northwest in a unified and diverse culture. of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam; creating conditions for people of the Northwest ethnic groups to meet, exchange and exchange experiences, preserve traditional cultural identity, strengthen the strength of the great national unity bloc, contribute to the construction of the Western region.
