(TITC) - On 9th December, the Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM Da Nang 2022 was officially kicked off at Da Nang International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event was organised by the Vietnam Tourism Association in coordination with the Da Nang City Department of Tourism.
Attending the event were Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST); Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT); Ms. Ngo Kim Yen, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People’s Committee; Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association - Head of Organising Board of VITM Da Nang 2022; leaders of VNAT’s departments, Da Nang City’s authorities; leaders of national tourism agencies in some countries in Vietnam; international and domestic enterprises in the fields of aviation, travel, accommodation, amusement parks... along with thousands of visitors.

Giving his remarks at the Opening ceremony, Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of MOCST said, Da Nang is considered as an economic centre of the Central region, and as the bright spot of the country in the field of tourism, attracting millions of tourists by being young, civilised and modern. Also, Da Nang is one of the domestic source markets of provinces and cities.
MOCST’s Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet highly praised for the initiative, positivity, efforts of the Vietnam Tourism Association and Da Nang City in organising the VITM Da Nang 2022. The Mart will be a professional playground, creating opportunities for tourism businesses, destinations, localities in the Central region in particular and the whole country in general to meet, capture information, seek corporations and develop in a new context.

VITM Da Nang 2022 holds the theme “Sea, Island and Coastal Tourism” that is suited to the tourism development orientation and advantages of Da Nang. In the past few years, tourism activities associated with the sea and islands have actively contributed to the prosperity of Vietnam tourism, creating attractiveness for tourists and improving the competitiveness of Vietnam tourism on the regional and world tourism map. The Strategy for Vietnam tourism development to 2030 determines: Sea and Island tourism is one of the four domains of Vietnam tourism.

Ms. Ngo Kim Yen, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People’s Committee shared at the event, 2022 is the year that marks the return and recovery of the tourism industry in the country in general and Da Nang in particular. This year, Da Nang has successfully hosted special national and international events and festivals such as the Asia Route Development Forum; Enjoy Da Nang Summer Festival, Danang Golf Tourism Festival; The BRG Asian Development Golf Tournament and many other diverse and rich activities play an important role in effectively promoting the destination and attracting tourists to Da Nang - Asia's leading event and festival destination.
The VITM Da Nang 2022, for the first time, was organised in Da Nang, proving the great effort of the Vietnam Tourism Association, Da Nang Tourism Association, Da Nang City Department of Tourism and the business community that have joined hands in determination to restore tourism activities nationwide in general and Da Nang in particular.

The VITM Da Nang 2022 takes place from 9th to 11th December, with more than 300 booths of more than 40 provinces, cities and 6 countries attending. The VITM Da Nang 2022 will focus on B2B (Business to Business) and welcome domestic and international businesses to come, work, exchange products, sign cooperation agreements, to exchange and attract tourists to Vietnam, thereby speeding up the recovery of international tourism. The Mart has attracted over 150 international buyers and nearly 200 domestic buyers come to work with Vietnamese businesses. The Mart also organises B2C (Business to Customer) activities: including providing domestic and foreign travel tours for Vietnamese people. The restoration and development of international tourism is the first and foremost goal of VITM Da Nang 2022.
The Forum “Sea and Island Tourism - Opportunities, Challenges and Solutions” takes place in the framework of the VITM Da Nang 2022 in the afternoon of 9th December. Here, representatives of ministries, branches, localities and tourism businesses together exchanged, discussed, assessed the current development status and determined new orientations, proposed solutions to soon bring sea and island tourism of Vietnam really bloom, affirming its strong reputation in the international market and commensurate with its potential.
The provinces and cities will also have seminars and events around the restoration and development of local tourism such as: The programme "Connecting strength - breakthrough reaching far"; Conference on promotion of Nghe An tourism; Conference on digital transformation in the tourism industry....
