(TITC) - According to Google Destination Insights, from the beginning of 2023 till now, the number of search volumes for Vietnam tourism continues to be among the top destinations with the fastest growth in the world (from the 11th to 6th). Vietnam is the only destination in Southeast Asia that gets into this category.

Thereby, during the time from 4 April to 22 June, Vietnam places the 6th in the World in the top destinations with the growth of 10% to 25%, much higher than the general growth rate of Southeast Asia (-10% to 10%). As a result, only Vietnam is the country in Southeast Asia in the top destination countries by the growth of search volumes in the world, leaving other countries in the region far behind: Indonesia (18), Thailand (19), Malaysia (21), Philippines (23), and Singapore (30).

Foreign markets that pay attention to Vietnam tourism include: USA, Japan, Australia, India, Korea, Singapore, UK, Malaysia, Germany, France. They are all key markets of Vietnam tourism.
These data show that demand for Vietnam tourism is recovering quickly. Catching up with the trend of the market, Vietnam has a good opportunity to attract international visitors to the country in the near future.
Remarkably, Vietnam National Assembly approved extending e-visas from 30 to 90 days, valid for multiple entry to meet the demands of international visitors; Citizens of countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas by Vietnam will be granted temporary residence for 45 days (up from 15 days) and can be considered for visa issuance and temporary residence extension according to regulations, this policy comes to effect from 15th August 2023. In addition, the Government is also considering expanding the unilateral visa exemption to attract international visitors to Vietnam.
With breakthrough new policies to facilitate visas, entry and exit, along with positive market trends, the tourism industry will have opportunity to attract a large number of tourists to Vietnam in the near future, especially when the peak season for international tourism will come in the last months of this year.
