(TITC) - The People's Committee of Kbang District has just issued a plan to implement the rural tourism model in Stor Village (To Tung Commune) in new rural construction in the 2023-2025 period.

Accordingly, relevant sectors in Kbang District join with To Tung Commune People's Committee to organize research, selection and support to form and develop typical agricultural tourism products.
Specifically, visiting and experiencing shifting cultivation with indigenous crops: local rice, bobo, locusts, forest vegetables... and collecting, preliminary processing of forest bamboo shoots, exploitation of forest honey... by the traditional way of Bahnar ethnic group.
Supporting stakeholders to develop featured products to participate in OCOP product evaluation and certification, in addition to building places to visit and experience for visitors.
Restoring traditional crafts and festivals of the Bahnar people. Embellishing and upgrade the cultural communal house of Stor village; supporting to build 5 homestays…
At the same time, linking the construction of rural tourism with exploiting the value of the historical and cultural relics of the Stor Resistance Village and the Heroic Nup Memorial House…

The construction of a rural tourism model in Stor village aims to concretize the Plan No. 657/KH-UBND, dated March 23, 2023 of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee on implementing “Program of rural tourism development in building new rural areas in Gia Lai Province, 2023-2025”.
Thereby, Kbang District expects attracting social resources and active participation from the community in building and developing advantageous tourism products and services; contributing to rural economic restructuring, creating local jobs, increasing incomes for rural workers, effectively and sustainably implementing new rural criteria in the locality.
Kbang District is located in the northeast of Gia Lai Province (in the Central Highlands). Stor Village in To Tung commune is over 70km from Pleiku City (provincial capital) to the east.
