India has been assisting Vietnam in restoring and preserving the tower groups at the My Son Sanctuary in compliance with the agreements between the governments of the two nations.

Urgent restoration of F towers
Reportedly, the governments of Vietnam and India have signed seven agreements, memoranda of understanding, and three bilateral cooperation programs.
Accordingly, the government of India agreed to sponsor the project on the preservation and promotion of the F-tower group at the My Son Sanctuary in Duy Phu (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province).
Subsequently, the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee has closely coordinated with the Indian Embassy to implement the agreed content. From 2020 to 2023, Quang Nam collaborated with experts from the Archaeological Survey of India to restore and preserve the F-tower group.
From November 2023 to January 2024, Indian experts returned to My Son to collect necessary data and prepare for the preservation and restoration of tower groups E, F, and A' in the years to come.

Earlier, the Government of India supported Vietnam to restore tower groups A, K, and H at My Son Sanctuary.

According to the Management Board of the My Son Sanctuary, the over-6-year project on My Son preservation and restoration has been basically completed, ensuring the principles of monument conservation.
In addition to providing a remedy for the degradation of the cultural legacy, the restoration of tower groups H, K, and a portion of group A helped to complete the architectural space of the My Son Sanctuary.

It's fascinating to note that 734 Cham sculptural artefacts were uncovered during the restoration. Among these is a sandstone altar with a full monolithic Linga-Yoni, the biggest of its kind unearthed to date and designated as a National Treasure.
The preservation and restoration project is a clear example of the Vietnam and India cooperation in solidarity, friendship, and effectiveness.
