On the afternoon of October 9, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town, the Trade and Investment Promotion Center of An Giang Province, Victoria Hang Chau Hotel Company Limited, and the Management Board of Cam Mountain Tourist Area held a meeting to discuss the Plan to organize the Cam Mountain Terrain Running Tournament 2023 and a number of coordination and support contents related to this tournament.
At the meeting, local representatives and units also raised questions related to the Terrain Running Tournament, such as about security and order during the tournament, ensuring absolute safety, and ensuring medical care for athletes, issues of accommodation, travel and some contents on technical and professional requirements, promoting the spirit of sports solidarity and honesty.
The tournament is organized on a nationwide scale, officially taking place on November 12, 2023 at Cam Mountain Tourist Area, Tinh Bien town, An Giang province. Up to now, there have been nearly 1,000 athletes registered to compete at the following distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km, with an additional 300 to 500 athletes expected to continue to register.
This is the first large-scale professionally organized terrain running tournament in the Mekong Delta region, jointly organized by the following units: An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center; People's Committee of Tinh Bien town; Victoria Chau Doc Hotel, Victoria Nui Sam belonged to Thien Minh Group; Vietrace365 Joint Stock Company and Management Board of Cam Mountain Tourist Area.
The "Cam Mountain Trail 2023" Terrain running tournament aims to increase the introduction and promotion of images and information about the Cam Mountain tourist area and other types of tourism activities, especially a new type such as trekking, this is a popular tourism activity that has appeared for a long time and has become popular in Vietnam in recent years. Thereby, creating a vibrant playground, promoting the movement of practicing and competing in sports in general and the increasingly developed terrain running of An Giang province in particular, creating opportunities for learning, exchange and physical health training, promoting the spirit of physical training and sports, connecting and exchanging local and international cultures./.
