Gathering many potentials for tourism development in a professional, modern and sustainable direction, in recent years, besides investing in infrastructure for community eco-tourism in Xuan Son National Park, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have also paid special attention to training of officers, staff, guides and indigenous people at the tourist destination in the hope of bringing visitors the most interesting and unique experiences when coming to Xuan Son.
Every year, Xuan Son National Park"s Tourist Information and Support Center opens training courses on community tourism, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: “Teaching Xoan singing and Phu Tho folk songs to serve tourists”; “Teaching and guiding the practice of folk performing arts for tourists”, “Training tour guide profession at the point”... which has attracted a large number of students to participate in the study.
Coming to the community professional training classes, students are trained in basic knowledge and skills in front desk, room, table, bar - beverage and kitchen service skills; teaching Xoan singing in Phu Tho and traditional folk songs and dances of the Dao - Muong ethnic groups; skills in organizing and performing cultural programs to attract and serve tourists...; fostering professional skills of tour guides according to specific topics such as: Introduction and practice of the process of welcoming tourists, methods and skills of making presentations...
In order to bring the best learning outcomes, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected a team of lecturers who are leading experts in domestic and international tour guide activities, experts in folklore with good teaching skills and high expertise, imparting knowledge in a positive pedagogical manner suitable to the level and receptivity of students.
The initial effectiveness of organizing community professional training courses at Xuan Son National Park Community Tourist Site has contributed to raising the awareness of indigenous people in participating in organizing community tourism activities, improving the quality of tourism services, creating jobs, increasing income from tourism activities in the district; contributing to building the destination image, promoting the development of community cultural tourism, and ecotourism – experience activities of the province. At the same time, raising the awareness of preserving and promoting the values of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity of Phu Tho Xoan singing and the cultural values of the Dao - Muong ethnic groups so that the values will increasingly be spread in the community and to tourists from all over the world.
