On 19th Oct, the Embassy of Denmark in Ha Noi announced US$135 millions in official development assistance (ODA) to support Viet Nam during 2011-2012 with the focus on green growth occupying 65%.
The Ambassador of Denmark said his Government's support in the 2 years will include projects on green growth, clear water, environmental sanitation and green energy development. Improving clean water quality, increasing its access to poor people, reducing water loss and studying on climate change will be provided by this fund.
In addition, Denmark's Government will continue to support National Target Program on climate change and projects on exploring potential and use of wind energy in Viet Nam.
Since 1993, Denmark has been considered as one of key ODA sponsors of Viet Nam providing more than $1.2 billion in ODA which funded such sectors as clean water and environmental sanitation, agriculture, fisheries, justice and private enterprise development.
