As a commune located in the core area of Xuan Son National Park and blessed with many beautiful landscapes, Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district, has favorable conditions to develop community tourism. In recent years, with the attention of all levels and sectors, community tourism in Xuan Son has increasingly developed, contributing to improving the lives of local people.
Tourists experience exploring the amazing natural landscape at Xuan Son National Park.
Comrade Ha Thi Yen, Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee, said: Xuan Son National Park has the advantage of a diverse ecosystem, rich resources, a large area of special-use forests, many caves, and beautiful natural landscapes, making it favorable for Xuan Son to develop community tourism associated with eco-tourism. Therefore, the Party Committee and the commune government identified this as an important direction to sustainably reduce poverty for the people.
In recent years, with the investment attention of the province and district, the infrastructure of the commune has been renovated, upgraded, and repaired; the tourism mindset of the people has changed in a positive direction. With systematic investment, attracting many tourists, especially many good films on television in the setting of the National Park area, has contributed to promoting and attracting tourists to Xuan Son.
Currently, in addition to the Xuan Son National Park Tourism Center, the people in the commune have invested in building 11 apartments in the form of homestays with a total of 47 closed rooms and 12 community rooms, capable of serving 800 overnight visitors. The main tourism services identified for investment and exploitation are community tourism, eco-tourism, resorts, visiting the flora and fauna ecosystems of the National Park, caves, etc.
Not only providing accommodation services, many other households in Xuan Son have switched to raising local specialties such as multi-spur chickens, black pigs, buffaloes, cows, or plants with high economic value to supply restaurants and as gifts for tourists to buy.
In the first six months of the year alone, the number of tourists coming to Xuan Son reached over 8,000, of which more than 1,000 stayed overnight, creating a significant source of income for local people.
To facilitate tourists to Xuan Son and at the same time connect with the Long Coc tea hill area and Long Coc commune, recently two projects: The traffic route connecting Long Coc tea hill tourism development with Xuan Son National Park (section from Long Coc to Xuan Dai) and the Tan Phu-Xuan Dai route (connecting with Xuan Son National Park) with a total investment of over VND350 billion were built and put into operation, contributing to shortening the length and facilitating access to the tourist area.
In the coming time, the locality will continue to promote and raise people’s awareness of the position and role of ecological community tourism, support the community to protect the forest and pristine landscape of the Xuan Son tourist area, replicate homestay models, develop diverse types of services to attract guests, encourage people to invest in developing seedlings and specialties, and build traffic infrastructure to serve tourism.
