Spain helps HCM City tackle river pollution
Update: 03/12/2009
The Government of Spain will support Ho Chi Minh City in a project to contain pollution in the Saigon river. The Saigon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) daily cited the sources from the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment as saying that Spain will send technical experts to the city to carry out its funded project.
The experts will assess the pollution level and waste water sources flowing into the river and then look for technical measures to prevent the waste water sources from contaminating the river, the daily said.
The Saigon river is the main water source for the Tan Hiep Waterworks which cater for the people in the country’s largest city.
