Vietjet's new route was inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia. The inaugural flight was welcomed by the people, tourists and leaders of the two countries.
Earlier, on the occasion of Australian Prime Minister’s official visit to Vietnam, on 4th June 2023, in Ha Noi, the Prime Ministers of two countries, Mr. Anthony Albanese and Mr. Pham Minh Chinh attended a ceremony to announce the new flight route. At the event, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his happiness at having the first flight connecting Vietnam with the city of Brisbane, where the 2032 Summer Olympics will take place.
Mr. Michael Hickey, Vietjet COO indicated, with Vietjet's route connecting two sunny and beautiful cities, Brisbane and Ho Chi Minh City, people and tourists will be able to fly directly for the first time, easily moving between two localities, two countries, and two regions. Crew and company leaders welcome customers to happy flights, full of smiles with Vietjet.
The route will have two rounded flights per week, departing on Mondays and Fridays. Vietjet will implement a series of unlimited promotions, providing "jet cafe with green cuisine" with many hot and fresh dishes, using large aircraft... for these flights.
Brisbane is the third largest city and is known as the "New York" of Australia with a blend of a young, vibrant city and natural scenery. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is an outstanding economic, cultural and tourist centre of Vietnam as well as the region with many Asian cultural features, a busy pace of life and convenient connections to Vietnamese and international destinations.

With the new route to Brisbane, Vietjet operates a total of eight weekly rounded flights from Vietnam to Australia.
