HCM City's greenest building set to open

Update: 14/05/2012
HCM City's first Gold-rated building for energy efficiency is almost ready and will be ready for occupation by August.

The developers of President Place yesterday held a ceremony to unveil the boutique grade A office building on Nguyen Du Street, District 1.

It has obtained an LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification, which is awarded by the US Green Building Council and is recognised as a top international environmental design standard.

The council rates buildings as certified, silver, gold, platinum based on their energy efficiency.

The 13-floor building, built at a cost of US$30 million, also fully meets the Viet Nam Standard (TCVN) and Building Code of Australia (BCA) health and safety standards. The building, to have a total gross area of 11,500sq.m, will be run by Building Management System that monitors the operational status of all systems, including air conditioning, water supply, and lighting.

It will also have glasses that minimise warming by sunlight.
