According to the Organizing Board, about 200,000 people came to the culinary festival titled “Taste of the World 2014” held in Ho Chi Minh city from December 4th to 7th.
Visitors to the event enjoyed a wide variety of dishes from 21 countries/territories from around the world with 60 businesses hosting 120 booths, including hotels and restaurants.
In addition, visitors also had a chance to partake in a diverse array of cultural and sporting activities and examine the sculptures from Vietnamese world cultural heritage sites, carved on the surface of fruit and vegetables, such as the One Pillar pagoda and Hoan Kiem lake.
Visitors enjoyed more than 60 uniquely beautiful cakes made by 100 distinctive bakers especially for the occasion.
The event started a series of activities to welcome the New Year 2015 and the shopping-tourism-cuisine campaign in December – the promotional month for Ho Chi Minh city to boost year-end sales. It was organized by Ho Chi Minh city Department of Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association./.
