Ha Noi assists 100% of cost for solving environmental pollution at 20 handicraft villages

Presently, Ha Noi has about 1350 handicraft and trade villages having the risk of environmental pollution, threating to its sustainable development.

 

To mitigate the pollution and improve environmental conditions at these villages, the People’s Committee of Ha Noi has asked relevant Departments, Sectors and People’s Committee of districts to review and make a list of villages over the city causing serious environmental pollution.

 

Especially, the Ha Noi People’s Committee will assist 100% of cost for construction of centralized wastewater treatment systems, solid waste dumping areas, etc. at the most 20 serious environmental pollution villages.

 

Besides, the city will also distribute no less than 10% of total environmental career expense for environmental protection at trade villages, especially traditional handicraft villages and the ones recognized in 2016.

 

According to the directive of the Prime Minister, the People’s Committee has assigned Ha Noi Department of Natural Resources and Environment and in collaboration with other Departments, Sectors and People’s Committee of districts, during two years (2016-2017), to review and classify trade villages; appraise and approve its environmental impact assessment reports; monitor and supervise environment; evaluate environmental pollution at these villages; investigate, inventory and classify trade villages based on 8 different types of production, including: food processing, handicraft, dyeing, tanning, waste recycling, mechanic, construction material, husbandry and slaughter.
