Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has decided to set up a Policy Advisory Council for Natural Resources and Environment. Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha is the Chairman of this Council.
Council members are scientists, economists, policymakers, managers in the fields of science, society, information technology with in-depth knowledge of natural resources and environment (Land, water resources, geology, minerals, environment, hydrometeorology, climate change, sea and islands, geodesy and cartography, remote sensing) from universities and research institutes , scientific societies, etc...
The Council is responsible for researching, consulting and debating with the Minister of MONRE on important guidelines, policies, programs, plans, schemes and projects in state management,fundamental investigation and forecast on natural and environment.
The Council has a work force consisting of part-time staff from independent agencies, units and experts established by the Minister of MONRE.
The fields under the consultation by the council include: land, water resources, geology and minerals, environment, hydrometeorology, climate change, sea and islands, geodesy and cartography, remote sensing and information technology.
