(TITC) – From December 27 – 30, 2018, the first Viet Nam Brocade Culture Festival will be held in Gia Nghia Town, Dak Nong Province to celebrate the 15th founding anniversary of the central highlands’ province (Jan 1, 2004 – 2019).
The festival aims to preserve and promote cultural values, traditional costumes of ethnic people in Dak Nong in particular and Viet Nam in general, and to introduce tourism potentials and cultural heritage values in Dak Nong Province. It will be also an opportunity for ethnic people across the country to exchange experiences and strengthen solidarity, national pride.
The opening ceremony themed “Viet Nam Brocade converges and shines in five continents” will take place at 8.00pm on December 27 with a unique art performance representing history of formation and development of Viet Nam, and promoting brocade culture. The festival will last till December 30.
During the festival, a variety of activities will be organized such as street festival, gastronomy space, brocade fashion show, international balloon festival, seminar on brocade culture of Viet Nam’s ethnic people, etc.
Currently, there are over 40 ethnic groups living in the central highland province of Dak Nong who still use traditional brocade clothes. The brocade weaving featuring cultural identity of the central highlands provinces’ people, has been one of traditional crafts for a long time and needs to be preserved.
