(TITC) - Under the theme "Hoa Lu – thousand-year Ancient Capital", the opening ceremony of the Visit Viet Nam Year took place in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital on April 20. This is a major tourism event in 2021 organized by Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam informed that in recent years, the Vietnamese tourism industry has made impressive and outstanding development. Viet Nam is one of 10 countries having the highest tourism growth rate. Vietnam tourism has received international prestigious awards.
He emphasized that the tourism is one of the sectors affected most heavily by COVID-19 pandemic. While Viet Nam temporarily has not opened the border to international visitors, the series of events in the Visit Viet Nam Year 2021 will be important driving force contributing to the recovery of domestic tourism. However, it should not be neglectful to let the pandemic appearing in the community.
Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc said that in recent years, Ninh Binh tourism has made a breakthrough development, become a bright tourist destination and honored by many international tourism organizations and specialists.
He described hosting the Visit Vietnam Year 2021 as a valuable opportunity for the Ninh Binh Province to affirm its position in the Vietnam and world tourism maps.
He believes that people and visitors will have impressive experiences, satisfaction and joy when coming to Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh in 2021.
At the opening ceremony, an art programme and a high-altitude firework display were organised.
