Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Le Huu Hoang said that the Provincial People's Committee has agreed with the provincial Department of Tourism on the policy of building a pilot plan to welcome international tourists with vaccine passports by charter flights to Khanh Hoa province.
Hon Tam Island currently has its Merperle Resort-Hotel in operation.
Based on the principle of ensuring safety measures for epidemic prevention and control according to the roadmap permitted by the Government, the two phase plan will develop processes and conditions to be proactive and ready to welcome international tourists to Khanh Hoa in the new situation.
Regarding the target visitors, the plan prioritises markets that have controlled the epidemic; using a bilateral agreement between the two countries through package tour programmes organised by tour operators.
Specifically, a group of beach resort tourists that will use self-contained tourism services at tourist areas should have certificates of f COVID-19 vaccine or certificates of recovery from COVID-19, negative RT-PCR test results for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours of departure, and health insurance or COVID-19 insurance with a minimum coverage of VND200 million for medical treatment and hospitalisation expenses related to COVID-19.
The Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee proposed the Department of Tourism note a number of contents such as updating the guidance and direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches on the relevant contents; piloting in a small area with little impact on socio-economic activities and people's lives; carrying it out at a time suitable to the actual situation of the province’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control; building close coordination mechanism between functional agencies of the province, ministries, central branches, local authorities and relevant organisations and individuals; and assigning specific and clear tasks to organisations and individuals in the entire implementation process as well as handling problems arising.
