(TITC) - On the sidelines of the Tourism Conference 2021 themed "Vietnam tourism - recovery and development" taking place in Nghe An Province on December 25, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism visited booth of Digital Transformation on Tourism organized by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and VietSens Technology Group.
At the booth, leaders of the Tourism Information Technology Center (TITC) and VietSens introduced digital transformation results and technology products of VNAT developed by TITC (under VNAT) and VietSens in recent years.
Accordingly, VNAT has focused on forming a smart tourism ecosystem with technology solutions designed for the principal stakeholders in tourism industry including: tourists, businesses, managers. The ecosystem includes applications, services softwares, database platforms, and information technology infrastructure.
Notably, "Vietnam Safe Travel" application has features on the safety for tourists such as: digital map for safe travel, check in, feedback, vaccination certificate, and medical declaration. The "Vietnam Tour Guide" application is designed for businesses, tour guides and management agencies. Its features are interlinked with the "Vietnam Safe Travel" application.
The Covid-19 safety registration and self-assessment system was built under the direction of the leadership of the Ministry to integrate information on safety at tourism service providers. Up to now, there have been more than 14,000 establishments registered and declared on the system, of which more than 13 thousand of accommodation establishments, about 1 thousand of travel businesses. The system is interconnected with the database of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Executive information systems for management agencies named as tourism dashboard, tourism database, online database of tourism statistics, and communication channels on the digital platform.
Besides, the booth also introduced technology products that contribute to enhance visitor experience like e-tickets, smart travel card, Vietnam tourism yellow page…
Coming to the booth, the visitors were supported to get free Smart Travel Cards. This is a product in the program "Vietnamese card - one national card" hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Smart Travel Card is built using EMV chip technology, Triple DES encryption, multi-function integration in the fields of tourism, healthcare, banking, commerce, transportation, education... supporting users to pay online, no-touching.
Digital transformation is discussed in the Conference "Vietnam tourism - recovery and development". The delegates all agreed that digital transformation is an inevitable trend and an urgent requirement to support the tourism industry to recover and develop in the new context.
