On October 13th, 2007, in Tourist Warf – Ninh Kieu Park, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in coordination with People’s Committee of Can Tho launched ceremony “Environmental protection week” which last from October 9th to 15th.
Ms Nguyen Thanh Huong, vice director of Tourism Promotion Department said: VNAT chose Can Tho to launch environmental protection week in order to raise awareness in the protection of environment, sustainable tourism development and welcome Mekong - Can Tho National Tourism Year 2008. On October 9th, 2007, Can Tho Urban Project Co. also held a day to clean up main streets in Can Tho.
