(TITC) - On 31st March 2022, in Ha Noi, the Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM Ha Noi 2022 was officially opened. This is an important event of the tourism industry right after Vietnam fully reopened domestic and international tourism from 15th March 2022.

Attending the Opening ceremony were Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST); Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Mr. Bui Hoai Son, Standing member of the Culture and Education Committee of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA); Mr. Vu The Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of VITA, Head of Organising Committee of VITM Ha Noi 2022; Leaders of the local tourism industry; Leaders of national tourism agencies of some countries in Vietnam; International organisations; businesses in the fields of aviation, travel, accommodation, resorts, attractions, amusement parks, etc. along with thousands of people and visitors to visit the mart.
Speaking at the Opening ceremony, Mr. Doan Van Viet, MOCST’s Deputy Minister, highly appreciated the role of VITA in creating this professional playground for localities and businesses. At the same time, he emphasised that VITM Ha Noi Travel Mart 2022 is one of the important events to restart trade, connectivity, cooperation, recovery and tourism development after Vietnam has fully resumed tourism activities from 15th March 2022.
In the context of the new normal with massive opportunities for Vietnam tourism, Mr. Viet suggested that it is necessary to reflect, reposition and restructure the tourism industry, creating a new breakthrough and a new level in development. Invest in developing new products, new destinations, new routes; especially, constantly improving the quality of human resources, promoting innovation and creativity and encouraging start-ups in tourism. At the same time, restructuring the tourist markets after the Covid-19 pandemic, stepping up promotion activities in important markets, focusing on technology application, promoting communication on digital platforms and social networks.

Localities and businesses need to strengthen linkages, actively participate in the global value chain, and improve the competitiveness of Vietnam tourism on the world tourism map. Besides, it is necessary to take advantage of the VITM 2022 time frame to look for opportunities for cooperation and development in the new period.
At the ceremony, the delegates also witnessed the button-pressing ceremony to officially open the VITM Ha Noi 2022 - opening a series of exciting activities of the Vietnam tourism industry in the coming days.
VITM Ha Noi 2022, the largest trade mart of the Vietnam tourism industry, will take place from 31st March to 3rd April with the theme "New normal - New opportunities for Vietnam tourism". The mart is a practical activity to implement the Vietnam Tourism Recovery Programme on the basis of promoting domestic, inbound and outbound tourism. This is also an opportunity for management agencies, tourism promotion agencies and businesses to exchange and discuss issues of recovery and development of the Vietnam tourism post COVID-19 pandemic, which focuses on building safe tourism products, protecting the environment, and digital transformation to develop tourism in the orientation of green and digital economy.

VITM Ha Noi 2022 attracts the participation of about 320 booths from 52 provinces and cities nationwide and from 6 countries and territories including: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Taiwan (China) and Turkey.
The mart is an opportunity for localities, domestic and foreign businesses to introduce tourist destinations, products and services; businesses looking for opportunities to cooperate and work directly B2B (Business to Business) at the booth. At the same time, businesses can introduce and directly provide tourism products (promotional tours, services at hotels, resorts, tourist attractions, air tickets, etc.) to business partners and for people and visitors visiting the Mart.
Especially at the Mart, tourism and aviation businesses will launch more than 10,000 stimulus tours at the Mart; 100,000 cheap flight tickets and more than 1,000 gifts for visitors.
The highlight of the VITM Ha Noi 2022 will be the Forum “The recovery of Vietnam tourism – New direction, New action”. This is the most important professional event of the Mart. Here, the state management agencies in charge of tourism and businesses together exchange and share experiences and initiatives in restoring and developing tourism in the new normal state.
