An exhibition showcasing tourism destinations, cultural heritages, scenic spots, and traditional handicrafts of Vietnam is going to take place in Hue City from April 27 to May 7, as part of Visit Viet Nam Year - Hue 2025.
Hue’s traditional handicrafts are displayed in Dai Noi (Imperial Citadel).
The exhibition aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Hue City (March 26, 1975 - 2025) and celebrate Hue's elevation to a centrally governed city.
The event also contributes to promoting Vietnam’s tangible and intangible cultural values, scenic landscapes, and the historical depth of the nation as well as strengthening interprovincial cultural and tourism cooperation, fostering tourism development, and promoting cultural and artistic exchanges.
The exhibition will feature handicrafts from traditional craft villages across Vietnam, supporting and encouraging artisans in their creative endeavours. It will provide a platform for artisans to network, showcase their craftsmanship, and promote the tourism potential of craft villages while facilitating integration into the global economy.
The exhibition is going to feature photos on the land and people of Vietnam, UNESCO-recognised sites including world cultural heritage, world natural heritage, mixed cultural and natural heritage, intangible cultural heritage, documentary heritage, and national special relic sites. It will also highlight Vietnam’s renowned landscapes and the unique cultural practices of different ethnic communities.
In addition, a special area will be arranged to display the photos on Vietnam’s ancient and modern capitals, including Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, and Ha Noi.
Another space will showcase cultural heritages from various regions across Vietnam, including the Red River Delta, northern mountainous areas, Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam. It will introduce various forms of tangible and intangible cultural heritage from different ethnic groups.
Within the framework of the exhibition is a special light sculpture collection which will introduce visitors to symbolic images of Hue such as lotus flowers, Hue women, the ancient capital, and non bai tho (traditional conical hat of Hue).
Additionally, several cultural spaces will be held on the occasion, including a Vietnamese tea culture space, a Vietnamese silk and Ao Dai Exhibition, and a Vietnamese ancient ceramics exhibition.
On the occasion, the cultural heritages and scenic spots from various provinces and cities as well as traditional products from more than 30 provinces and cities around the country will be displayed at the exhibition.
Nearly 30 organisations will also introduce craft village products, One Commune One Product (OCOP) items, and traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
The exhibition is expected to provide an immersive experience in Vietnamese cultural heritage, tourism, and traditional craftsmanship while promoting Vietnam’s unique identity to both domestic and international audiences.
