(TITC) - Covering more than 500 sq km of the area, situated in Kien Giang Province, Phu Quoc is the largest island among the 20 islands located in the Gulf of Thailand, and also the largest island of Vietnam.
At about more than 500 sq km, 50 km long, 25 km wide at its widest place, 603 m at the highest point, the terrain is gentle, running from south to north with 99 mountains and hills. The waters around Phu Quoc island are less than 10 m deep.
Phu Quoc lies in one of the largest fishing grounds in the country, the Gulf of Thailand, which is favourable for the development of fishing. With more than 3,500 vessels engaged in fishing. In a year, there are two rainy and sunny seasons, the rainy season lasts 3 months a year, so it is convenient to catch anchovies, the type of fish that makes the famous fish sauce of the "Pearl Island".

This island possesses invaluable natural conditions for tourism development such as a mild climate, warm sunshine all year round, rolling mountains and vast islands with 28 large and small islands, 150 km of coastline, 14 diverse beaches with golden sand, creamy white sand…. In which, Phu Quoc National Park, Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area occupies more than two thirds of the natural area and is the core area of the Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve.

Thom (Pineapple) Island, with the full synthesis of natural beauty from the clear blue beach, rich vegetation, strangely shaped cliffs and coral viewing spots. With an impressive length of 8 km, the sea-crossing cable car connecting Phu Quoc and Thom Island, is a fancy sightseeing spot.
