Demand for the tourism type of "chadventure" which combines adventurous tours and charitable activities or voluntary works has been on the rise worldwide, even pushing several tour operators to join hands with non-government organisations for the development of the tours. Vietnam should grasp the trend for the tourism development this year.
In stead of selecting autos, tourists can use motorbikes, bikes or even walk to explore new tourism destinations. In Hoi An Ancient Town or Hue Ancient Citadel, many people choose bikes to enjoy the Vietnamese culture and atmosphere, but not cause the earth to become hotter due to exhaust. Visitors from the developed countries often like peaceful beauty places. Not only going on holidays, they have time for entertainment and relaxation and mix themselves with the life.
More young people select green tours with friendly places and using environmentally-friendly means of transport. In stead of using motorbikes, visitors can take bikes; or instead of sleeping at modern rooms, people can stay at tents at a garden full of green trees. Instead of choosing available fish on the tank, visitors can have a chance to catch fish to look for food for their meat.
In Vietnam, young people also want to find a period of entertainment time to enjoy the life after escaping from high-rise buildings which were installed with high-capacity air conditioners and lack sunlight.
Grasping the trend, many local tourism firms design many adventurous tours such as mountain climbing, cuttlefish catching and walking in forests. Do Trong Nguyen, Director of Vietdiscovery Company said, the green tours is an inevitable trend of the society, which started appearing in western countries in the 1970s to ease the stressful atmosphere of industrial development for their people. Therefore, taking tours is not only discovering beauty of destinations and staying at luxurious hotels but also enjoy the natural view and experience the life.
Along with the big demand for holidays, visitors also want to express that they can help other people after their tours. The trend of holidays at farms and little-known states in the US and Istanbul is also forecast to grow in 2010. According to some surveys by some famous travel companies showed that, this year, more people to take tours to contribute something to the places whey come to.
A number of domestic companies have recoganised the trend; therefore, they will include activities to help tourists to indicate their environment protection contributions in the tours. More interestingly, travellers can plant trees, collecting waste or repairing classrooms for children.
Holidays also bring visitors with the feeling of relaxation through cultural discovery and understanding of local people’s life.
