(TITC) - Ha Long Bay and Cu Chi Tunnels, Vietnam are ranked 9th and 8th respectively out of 10 ideal places in Southeast Asia for travellers who love adventure travelling and exploring historical sites, voted by The Travel magazine.
Recently, a Canadian magazine, The Travel just revealed its list of 10 epic & adventurous places in Southeast Asia that travellers must visit and Vietnam are not only named 1 but 2 destinations in this list.
According to The Travel, Southeast Asia is a region of countries that possesses a rich tapestry of distinct cultures and faiths. Many travel lovers consider it to be a favourite part of the globe to travel because of its beautiful beaches, delectable cuisine and various heroic historical relics. This tropical destination will give travellers an abundance of interesting and exciting experiences, from hiking through hot rainforests to snorkelling in the world’s most spectacular coastal areas.
To many travellers, Ha Long Bay has become an acquaintance on the tourist map of the world. Ha Long Bay, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, within Quang Ninh Province, in the northeast of Vietnam, is165 km from the capital of Ha Noi. Covering an area of over 1,500 square kilometres and including 1,969 islands and islets, most of which are uninhabited and unaffected by humans, it forms a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars and is an ideal model of a mature Karst landscape developed during a warm and wet tropical climate. Coming to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, travellers may enjoy the region by diving and snorkelling, renting a canoe, or perhaps simply relaxing on the upper deck of the boat tour with a beverage in hand, stated by The Travel.
If Ha Long Bay gives travellers a trip with a strong northern vibe, the Cu Chi Tunnels will bring a completely different and equally adventurous experience of the South of Vietnam. Located about 70km from the centre of Ho Chi Minh City to the northwest, is a vast network of subterranean tunnels. Cu Chi Tunnels is considered as an unique war-fighting wonder with about 250km of tunnels spreading like spider webs in the ground. Travellers will get to know about real events that happened in this tunnel, the story of the wars from the ground between Vietnamese soldiers, compatriots and invaders during period 1945 - 1975.
