In 2023, Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City will organize many community performances to build its brand and attract tourists through the image of “Art City.”

In 2022, many community music projects of HCM City held in the area in front of the HCM City Opera House, Post Office, and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street made an impression among the public.
One of the impressive community music projects in the past year is “Lively SaiGon” music nights, held monthly by the HCM City Light Music Center.
According to the HCM City Light Music Center, “Lively SaiGon" is one of the music projects that contributes to enhancing artistic and cultural activities with typical cultural and historical destinations of the city.
This year, the music nights will continue, to be kicked off in early March and promising to bring new things to the audience.
Taking place from 17h00 to 19h00 every Saturday at Bach Dang train station on Ton Duc Thang street (District 1), the project “Have an appointment with Saigon” offers free performances.
The program has only recently been launched (from mid-2022) but has created a ripple effect and is even more meaningful in the time of tourism stimulus, promising to be an interesting stopover every weekend in the downtown area of the city.
According to the artists, the image “On the wharf under the boat” is also a unique feature of the Southern land in general and HCM City in particular.
Bach Dang Wharf was chosen as the performance space of the project so that people and tourists can fully enjoy the sound of the river.
Similarly, the program “Vietnamese timbre” performed by the Bong Sen Ethnic Music and Dance Theater every Saturday morning in front of the HCM City Post Office also created unexpected effects.
Notably, the introduction of this program is bilingual English-Vietnamese to serve foreign tourists.
In 2023, community performances will not only be concentrated in the central area, but will be held in districts for all people to enjoy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy said that in order for Ho Chi Minh City to truly become an attractive destination, it is necessary to have many products in addition to community music spaces, including the annual International Festival. This is a favorable condition for the southern hub to invest in quality and scale products to attract tourists./.
