(TITC) - On 27th November 2023, the People’s Committee of Hoi An (Quang Nam Province) announced activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, 24 years since Hoi An Ancient Town was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, 6 years since Bai Choi art singing in Central Vietnam was registered by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

In the framework of the programme are activities to learn about Hoi An cultural heritage such as: Introducing the books "Thung Chai in Hoi An", "Images of Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange in Hoi An" at Hoi An Communal House (No. 27 Le Loi street); Display of publications about Hoi An and "Learn about Relics through books" at Hoi An - Thanh Hoa Library (No. 131 Nguyen Truong To street);
Inauguration ceremony of the renovation and embellishment of Hoi An Prison relic and display of photos and documents "People from Quang Nam - Da Nang in Con Dao Prison" at Hoi An Prison relic (No. 240/12 Ly Thuong Kiet Street).

On this occasion, the city organises the traditional marathon tournament "For Hoi An World Cultural Heritage 2023" for the people and communities living in Hoi An, domestic and international tourists at 6 a.m on 2nd December, starting at Hoi An Park and going through routes around Hoi An Ancient Town to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town being recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
At 7 p.m on 7th December at the An Hoi Roundabout area, an exchange activity will take place to celebrate the 6th anniversary of Bai Choi art singing in Central Vietnam being recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This activity with exchanges and interactions between bai choi artists, artisans and tourists promises to bring a meaningful evening for those who preserve this unique art form in the locality.

Along with that, the beautiful image contest "Hoi An - Tourism Smile" has been held since November to seek works that demonstrate the gentle personality and hospitality of Hoi An people in daily life, service tourism activities, as well as dealing with visitors; contributing to spreading the image of a Hoi An - Kind-hearted people to domestic and international friends.
Besides, many other interesting and attractive activities such as: Painting exhibition with the theme "Soul of the City", Painting and decoration on Mo fans, ceramics, and masks on paper take place from 29th November - 3rd December 2023 at Hoi An Folk Culture Museum (No. 33 Nguyen Thai Hoc street); "Ancient Town Green Tree Festival" on roads in the ancient town together towards a green Hoi An; The conference discussed solutions to strengthen Hoi An tourism environmental management, improve the quality of "Ancient Town Night", "Pedestrian Street and Non-Motor Vehicles"; Introducing the pilot activity "Ancient town Book Street";…
