Mr Cao Hong Nguyen, Head of the Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism), commented on the number of visitors to Phu Yen during the holidays of April 30 and May 1 and said that given the positive growth momentum of tourism since the beginning of the year, visitors during this holiday are expected to continue to rise significantly. In order for travelers to enjoy a comfortable mid-year vacation, travel agencies make reasonable decisions about the number of retail visitors and short tours. Furthermore, a large number of domestic tourists also have a high demand to visit and picnic in destinations in the province. "The total number of tourists visiting Phu Yen during these five holidays is estimated at 41,000, according to information gathered by the accommodation establishment and situational forecasts", Mr Nguyen said.

According to Mr Cao Hong Nguyen, Phu Yen tourism business establishments have planned activities to serve tourists for this holiday, of which the highlight is tuna parties in major tourist areas and spots in Tuy Hoa city.
In addition, Stelia Beach Resort holds a buffet gala dinner - a tuna performance on the evening of April 30 at Gozo Brew House restaurant. Sala Grand Tuy Hoa Hotel organizes a trading session and buffet at the hotel on April 30 and May 1. Mandala Hotel & Spa (Apec) Phu Yen holds a buffet and a show of tuna fillets on the evening of April 30 and May 1.
Mr Bui Hong Ngoc, Mandala Hotel & Spa Executive Director, said: “Phu Yen is considered the cradle of Vietnamese tuna fishing. Visitors were highly interested in the buffet demonstrations we prepared to create dishes from tuna for previous holidays and events. Chefs practice filleting a large tuna on the spot and prepare dozens of distinctive dishes that appeal to visitors”.
One of the new products for visitors on this occasion is the Tuy Hoa streetcar. The Ha Phu Trading and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company has had a license to transport people to visit locations and streets in Tuy Hoa City since the beginning of the year. This new service draws tourists to try it out. Mr. Phan Phu Thinh, Deputy Director of Ha Phu Tourism Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, said: "The company has just placed into operation 5 more cars, raising the total number of running vehicles to 10 units, in order to promptly service guests on this vacation and the future tourism season. The company promised not to raise prices during the holiday. Accordingly, travelers hired automobiles to run by the hour on the inner city Tuy Hoa, with the peak hour from 18 to 22 hours costing 300,000 VND for first hour and next hour 200,000 VND/hour; the average price from 6 to 17 was 150,000 VND/hour. Each bus carries eight passengers”.
