(TITC) - On 15 August 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism held a press conference to inform about the 18th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC) which will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City from 5 - 7 September.
Under the theme “Sustainable travel, creating future”, ITE HCMC 2024 will focus on promoting practical solutions and supporting policies for sustainable tourism; at the same time, creating cooperation opportunities for regions, areas and countries to develop a sustainable future through tourism.
In order to find solutions for sustainable tourism development, creating future, a series of events will be held such as: High level tourism forum "Net Zero Travel & Tourism - Creating Future", "Empowering local communities through sustainable tourism" (implemented by VNAT and UN Tourism RSOAP), "Promote sustainable tourism development through ESG", "The power of communication in fostering sustainable development", Workshop on Promoting responsible tourism associated with wildlife protection and no ivory trade"...
Over 10,000 business meetings will set up during the three days of the travel expo. The online appointment booking system will be available from 20 August to 20 September, allowing buyers to easily schedule and manage their appointments online before the event.
To date, more than 450 exhibitors and 200 buyers from 33 countries and territories have confirmed their participation in the flagship event, increase by more than 10% compared to 2023.
ITE HCMC 2024 continues to record the active participation of buyers who are consulting organizations, tourism influencers, leaders, tour operators, travel and tourism experts as well as destination management companies, travel technology companies, airlines, etc.
Accompanying ITE HCMC 2024, the HCMC’s Department of Industry and Trade also launched the Shopping Season 2024 City Sale program from 30 August to 8 September at major shopping centers: Union Square Building, Science and Technology Building, SC VivoCity Shopping Center with diverse items discounted up to 80%.
