Beautiful natural landscape associated with the heroic history of a revolutionary base, Da Ban lake (Ninh Son commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa Province) has potentials to develop tourism.

About 50km from Nha Trang with very convenient traffic, Da Ban Lake has beautiful natural scenery. It has fresh water and cool air. On the lakeside, when the water level has not reached the maximum capacity, the green grass slopes are revealed. Beyond the lakeside area is primeval forest with a lot of interesting things, each trail under the forest canopy, clear streams murmuring day and night, huge rocks towering …, all seem to fascinate those who love to explore, walk through the forest or want to be in harmony with peaceful and beautiful nature.
This place also marked a heroic period of history - Da Ban revolutionary base. It is surrounded by high mountains, rugged terrain and mountains like Hon Duc,Me Bong Con, Hon Chao..., which sheltered the revolutionary soldiers in the past, now appear with wild natural beauty. Coming to Da Ban mountain forest is also an opportunity for the young generation to visualize more clearly the spirit and steel will of the revolutionary forces at this revolutionary base.
According to fieldtrip results by the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association in April 2022, the association found that the Da Ban lake area has great potential for tourism development with a location convenient in traffic connection, beautiful landscape with natural lakes, streams, mountains and forests, associated with Da Ban revolutionary base - a provincial historical - cultural relic.
A tourism project for Da Ban
Dang Quang Thanh - Director of North Khanh Hoa Protection Forest Management Board said that in June 2021, the board was approved by the provincial People's Committee with a technical outline and a budget estimate to set up a project for eco-tourism, resort and recreation of Da Ban area. After a period of research and implementation, in April 2022, the board completed the project, which includes an assessment of the current status of natural resources, tourism resources and products of ecotourism, convalescence and entertainment; plans to develop routes and locations for ecotourism, convalescence and entertainment. The project also has solutions to forest protection and development, nature conservation, biodiversity, environmental protection and maintenance of the forest's protective function.
Accordingly, the total area of the project is 587.27ha, including more than 487ha of natural forest, more than 11ha of water surface, 8.79ha of agricultural land and other land. On this area, the project is oriented to build eco-tourism, resort and entertainment destinations such as experiencing ecological forest and agricultural forest gardens, lakeside ecological point, Da Ban historical site, camping spots by streams and lakes, attractions for wildlife experiences, health training... In tourist attractions, there will be tourist operator house, streamside and lakeside bungalows, rest huts, fire watch huts combined with sightseeing ... for tourists. These works are made from friendly materials such as wood, bamboo...
On April 14, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received a report from the North Khanh Hoa Protection Forest Management Board on the appraisal and approval of the project of eco-tourism, convalescence and entertainment in Da Ban. On May 6, the department organized a working delegation including relevant departments, branches, units and localities such as: the provincial Department of Tourism, the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the provincial Department of Construction, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee, agencies of forest protection, irrigation... to conduct field survey in the area of the project. At the field survey, representatives of departments, sectors and localities highly appreciated the potential of tourism in Da Ban lake.
It is known that, after the survey, the relevant departments, agencies and localities will study the explanation of the project, then the project will be completed and submited to the competent authorities for approval.
