(TITC) - On April 18, in Ha Noi, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum Province, Vietnam Tourism Development Fund and Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) jointly organized a press meeting to inform the Forum "Kon Tum Tourism - Potential and Prospects". The forum organized by the cooperation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Kon Tum Province People’s Committee will take place on April 24, in Kon Tum City.

The event is expected to have the presence of leaders of the MOCST, VNAT, VITA; leaders of Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, departments of Kon Tum Province; leaders of tourism management departments; economic and tourism experts; enterprises, corporations, major investors, airlines…
Delegations will discuss on potential and prospects of Kon Tum tourism, solutions to develop tourism products, promoting tourism and investment, strengthening linkages, attracting visitors to Kon Tum.
In the framework of the Forum, there will be Announcement ceremony of tourism development plan in the triangle area of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia, period of 2021-2025, toward 2030; Announcement ceremony of Kon Tum tourism logo and slogan "Cultural Experience - Nature Discovery"; Cooperation signing between Kon Tum Province and localities, associations, businesses and investors.
The forum is part of a series of culture, sports and tourism events in April including the ceremony to receive the certificate of the Dak To Victory relic in 1967 and the historic High Point of 875 at Sa Loong Commune (Ngoc Hoi District), certificate of special national relic site of High Point 1015 and High Point 1049.
On this occasion, the visitors to Kon Tum have chance to experience hot air balloons flying, visit the space introducing typical cultural and tourism products and enjoy Ngoc Linh Ginseng Market.
A famtrip and caravan from Ho Chi Minh City also will be hold for travel agents to survey destinations and tourism products of Kon Tum Province.
Besides, there is the Open Paragliding tournament of Sa Thay District, the National Men's - Women's Tennis Championship.
VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu said that the forum is a major tourism event of Kon Tum Province in particular and the Central Highlands region in general. The forum will be an opportunity for Kon Tum to promote the advantages of tourism, thereby calling strategic investors to "wake up" Kon Tum tourism.
Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province, said that Kon Tum province has many potential for tourism development like Ngoc Linh Mountain on Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve, wellknown for Ngoc Linh ginseng; the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia tri-border landmark; Mang Den - Kon Plong national eco-tourism site with fresh air, cool all year round.
The province also has a long history with a heroic revolutionary tradition, preserving many unique traditional cultural values of the Central Highlands ethnic minorities, creating a picture of diverse community activities. The province has built the main tourism products related to eco-tourism, community-based tourism, cultural and history tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism.
In the period 2016-2020, the total number of visitors to Kon Tum reached 1,808,353 arrivals (including 645,130 international visitor arrivals); Average tourism receipts was over 200 billion VND in each year.
