Going to the highlands or climbing up a mountain is never the top choice on my travel list for one good reason; I love the beach with blue cool water surrounding my body and soft sand under my feet.
By accident I came to Ba Na Hills Resort on Ba Na Mountain in Danang City and it actually surprised me how much I enjoyed spending summer time deep in the mountains. It was a great experience with its cold weather, magical misty views and many attractions like cable car, entertainment park, pagoda, waterfall and wine-cellar worthy of our time.
Ba Na Hills Resort is located 25 kilometers southeast of Danang downtown.
It is an ecological resort complex which is known for the world’s longest non-stop cable system (5,000 meters) linking the ground to the mountain from over 1,500 meters above sea level.
Tourists can admire a spectacular view of the primitive forest with its red, yellow and green leaves, Suoi Mo (dream stream) and nine-level Toc Tien (fairy hair) Waterfall beneath their cable car on a 15-minute journey to the first station at Doi Vong Nguyet (admiring moon hill).
Then tourists will spend five more minutes to get to the last station where modern hotels designed in French architecture appear in a curtain of mist and cold winds which welcome guests to some attractions like Linh Ung-Ba Na Pagoda and Fantasy Park.
The pagoda is a must for travelers as it has a 27-meter-high white Sakyamuni Buddha Statue facing a panoramic view of the forest and the city below.
Kids and teenagers will be impressed by a three-level entertainment area named Fantasy Park in the shape of a huge cave under the ground.
It covers an area of 21,000 square meters with over forty games like free fall tower, 360 degrees cinema, 4D movie, dodgem car, games arcade, ghost house and interactive dark ride for guests of all ages to play. There is also a food court featuring various Western and Asian food and a souvenir area inside the park to serve guests.
Free circus performances by artists from Vietnam Circus Federation are also available three times a day to serve visitors to the park.
A package ticket to Ba Na Hills Resort for adults is VND400,000 and VND320,000 for children standing from 1 meter to 1.3 meters tall inclusive of a two-way cable car ride and entertainment park access.
