(TITC) - On 22nd February 2022, Minister of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), Mr. Nguyen Van Hung chaired a meeting session with the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province to review the preparation of the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 under the theme “Quang Nam - A green tourism destination”.

Attending were Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of MOCST, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Mr. Ha Van Sieu, VNAT’s Vice Chairman, leaders of units under the MOCST and VNAT.
Giving a speech at the opening ceremony, Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that this is the most suitable time to organise the Visit Vietnam Year, beaming a ripple effect across the country on a period of tourism recovery and development in the new normal state, when Vietnam is preparing to resume fully tourism activities from 15th March.
Mr. Hung indicated that the top issue when reopening tourism is to ensure the safety of tourists, therefore, it is crucial to renew tourism products in accordance with the needs of the market. At the same time, upholding cultural products, contributing to spreading and creating connections among Quang Nam Province and other provinces and cities in the Central Region as well as the whole country.

According to Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province, the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 under the theme “Quang Nam - A green tourism destination” aiming to convey a message of a strong rising Quang Nam but paying intense attention to cultural heritage preservation, green tourism development, core values for sustainable tourism development. The opening ceremony is the ‘curtain lifting’ event for nearly 200 events taking place in the Visit Vietnam Year 2022. Thereby, introducing and promoting cultural, historical and resource value. Promote connection and cooperation in tourism development among provinces and cities. Granting a big favourable condition to lure investment resources, develop tourism, leverage the position of the image, country and people of Vietnam in general; the land and people of Quang Nam Province in particular.
In the overall report on the Visit Vietnam Year 2022, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh stated, according to the assignment of the leaders of the MOCST, the VNAT has closely coordinated lately with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) of Quang Nam Province to develop a scheme to organise the Visit Vietnam Year 2022.
According to updated statistics until 21st February 2022, the Visit Vietnam Year will consist of 192 activities and events. In which, the MOCST will be in charge of hosting 10 national and international events; Quang Nam Province will host 62 events (including the Opening and Closing ceremony); 40 provinces and cities across the country will hold 120 events in response.
The Opening ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year is expected to take place on 25th March 2022 at the Hoi An Memories Island, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province. The Closing ceremony is expected to take place at the end of December at VinWonder Nam Hoi An amusement park, Quang Nam Province.

After this meeting, the VNAT and DOCST continue perfecting the design of the identity; on that basis, there are guiding documents sent to localities to request to use officially in response activities and events. VNAT will continuously coordinate promoting further about events and activities of the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 on mass media channels, in domestic and foreign media campaigns.
Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet appraised that Quang Nam Province is a locality with many experience in tourism development and organising grand events, so the preparation has been done perfectly. The MOCST will support localities to organise events in the best way by integrating with activities of the Ministry during and after the event.
At the meeting, the MOCST agreed with the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province in some contents about the Opening ceremony, Logo of the Visit Vietnam Year, clearly defining roles and responsibilities of each agency, unit and locality in organising and implementing tasks.

Concluding the meeting, MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung highly appreciated the proactive and active role of the locality. Mr. Hung believes that with the determination of Quang Nam Province and a sense of responsibility, the support of all people, the Visit Vietnam Year - Quang Nam 2022 will be held successfully, with fruitful results, contributing to the national tourism industry to overcome difficulties and challenges.
Mr. Hung emphasised, tourism activities and events are organised in Quang Nam Province with the goal of spreading and stimulating the recovery of tourism in the Central region and the whole country. Therefore, Quang Nam will be the key locality, linking tourism activities among regions across the country. Localities need to offer unique, attractive, practical and new activities and ensure a cultural, safe and friendly tourism environment to meet the needs of tourists.
