According to Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, Nghinh Phong Tower Square has just received the 2023 Asian Townscape Award in Korea. This work is the only representative of Southeast Asia to be honored this year.

Asian Townscape Award (ATA for short) is an international award established in 2010 by the collaboration of four organizations relating to architecture, urban planning, and human settlement in the Asia-Pacific region. The award-winning works and projects are evaluated according to five criteria: being environmentally friendly, sustainable safety, local culture and history adherence, high artistic quality, contributing to region development, and other cities' models. This is an opportunity to recognize the efforts of cities in creating a good living and working environment and encouraging sustainable development and harmony with nature.
Since the first award, 166 projects have been nominated in 122 cities in 16 countries. Vietnamese localities have participated and won prizes; recently, the works include Can Tho Floating Market, Hoi An Ancient Town, Da Nang Urban, Ha Noi Mural Street, Nguyen Tat Thanh Square - Tuyen Quang.
Nghinh Phong Square with a unique architecture and is considered one of the tourist symbols of Tuy Hoa City
Nghinh Phong Square is located on the beach in the center of Tuy Hoa city. The building has a unique architecture that emphasizes the legendary story of Lac Long Quan - Au Co and is compared to being a Phu Yen song written from the wind. The tower is made of 50 hexagonal stone blocks on each side, divided in the middle by a slit to catch the wind. When the mantle of night falls, the tower is illuminated with 3D technology and high-intensity lasers, creating a multi-colored light dance that harmonizes with the sound of the sea breeze. This is the place where many major events in the province and the country take place, which is considered a new symbol of Tuy Hoa tourism.
Nghinh Phong Tower Square is highly appreciated by the professional council of the tournament due to the community space that connects people and the idea of completing the building flexibly and adapting to harsh sea weather conditions.
