(TITC) - On February 25, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and leaders of VNAT’s departments had a meeting with leaders of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan Province on the orientation of recovering and developing the province's tourism.
According to a report of the Ninh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the past 10 years, the province's tourism industry has made rapid and comprehensive development, becoming one of the driving economic sectors. The number of tourists to the province in the past 5 years has increased by an average growth of 10.8%/year.
However, in the past two years, the COVID-19 outbreak has caused great damage to the province's tourism industry. In 2021, the total tourism receipt is estimated at 754 billion VND, down 13.8% compared to 2020.
In order to restore tourism, Ninh Thuan has set out the key solutions such as: Enhancing tourism promotion; Developing a variety of tourism products; Organizing activities, events, tourism stimulus programs to attract tourists; Strengthening linkages and cooperation with provinces and cities across the country...
At the meeting, leaders of Ninh Thuan tourism proposed VNAT to support on connecting and promoting Ninh Thuan tourism on the digital platforms of VNAT; training tourism human; accelerating digital transformation…
VNAT’s Vice Chairman said that Ninh Thuan Province located in the middle of the "tourist triangle" Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa provinces. In order to create a breakthrough, Ninh Thuan needs to improve service quality, diversify tourism types, effectively exploit specific products and unique cultures, highlighting the uniqueness of local tourism.
He emphasized that the Government has now agreed to allow the reopening of tourism activities in the new normal from 15th March 2022, so Ninh Thuan tourism industry needs to be ready to welcoming domestic and international tourists in a safe, flexible and efficient manner.
