Da Nang's beaches are continuously highly appreciated by travel and tourism websites around the world. This is a great advantage for the city to attract tourists, especially international ones. However, it is high time for the city to add more activities and amenities in a bid to meet the increasing needs of tourists.

Affirming Da Nang beaches’ brand
It is no coincidence that recently Da Nang’s My Khe Beach was ranked 6th on the list of Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Beaches in Asia as voted by readers of Tripadvisor, one of the world largest travel guidance platforms. Previously, in 2023 My Khe Beach was the only representative of Viet Nam to appear in the list with the 8th place.
The My Khe Beach was rated by Tripadvisor travellers as having long, smooth sand, gentle surf, cool green coconut trees, areas for swimming and surfing. In fact, the My Khe Beach is always highly popular. Visitors rate it highly every time they visit. Mr. Tran Trung Sinh, a tourist in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau said that he has had the opportunity to go to many places and many beaches in Viet Nam but Da Nang beaches are very beautiful.
One difference is that Da Nang’s beaches are very clean with no trash. In a similar perspective, Ms. Merianne, a Philippine tourist, felt very satisfied when coming to Da Nang. She chose to stay in an apartment near a local beach so that every day she could go to the beach, take a towel, sunbathe, relax and read favourite books. “A very peaceful and comfortable scene for tourists,” Ms. Merianne complimented.
Besides the inherent advantages, tourism personnel recommended that the tourism industry need to invest in more services and amenities to diversify and enrich beach activities.
According to Mr. Cao Tri Dung, the Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, Da Nang's tourist beaches have long been highly appreciated by domestic and international tourists.
So as to improve these strengths, it is necessary to increase additional amenities for visitors. Along with beautiful beaches, it is necessary to exploit more advantages such as exploiting more paragliding and sightseeing tours on the water surface and promote under-the-water services as scuba diving, underwater walking, and diving to see coral reefs.
“Along with luxury resorts, additional services on and under the water surface as above mentioned will bring a busy and bustling space to the beach where guests can freely have fun vacations during their stay periods in Da Nang”, Mr. Cao Tri Dung suggested.
Develop services in depth and imbued with local culture
According to Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Nguyen Duc Vu, currently, tourism products and services on Da Nang beaches have basically met the needs of people and tourists and they are rated very positively by tourists on a number of criteria such as clean and beautiful environment, high level of security and safety, guaranteed infrastructure and utilities.
Every year, the Management Board also launches many activities to serve local residents and tourists who come to have fun and swim during their relaxing stay on beaches. This agency is strengthenning rescue work, security and order, environmental sanitation and upgrading public service facilities and activities such as requesting service businesses to repair and redecorate their business premises on the beach, improve service quality. Also, heed is paid to installing warning signs in dangerous areas with rip currents and the possibilities of bad weather.
In an effort to bring a difference as well as create excitement for visitors, the Management Board plans to organise a series of special events lasting from April to August such as renewing refreshment and marine entertainment areas, souvenir food stalls and check-in services at My An night beach, increasing the organisation of events at Bien Dong (East Sea) Park and along the beach such as the programme ‘Opening the 2024 beach tourism season’ on April 30 and May 1, weekend entertainment activities along two coastal routes, marine sports activities such as sea rescue, wimming and sailing competitions.
Alsom, coordination with other agencies will be made to organise a number of major events such as IRONMAN Viet Nam, Viet Nam - South Korea, Viet Nam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival.
“The Management Board focuses on developing beach services in depth, with local cultural elements in the services to create a difference. Besides, it also creates creative spaces for culture, cuisine, and sports following modern trends to suit the taste of foreign tourists. All activities are aimed at forming a safe - civilized - attractive Da Nang beach tourism brand with many typical tourism products that attract domestic and foreign tourists", Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu emphasized.
