(TITC) - The Vietnam Pavilion was honored to welcome Mr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in his visit to pavilions in the Opportunity District (Expo Dubai 2020).
He spends the most time here because he is interested in the unique features of Vietnamese culture, especially ethnic musical instruments.
Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Thuy - Director of Vietnam Pavilion introduced the outstanding achievements of Vietnam's economy, society, culture, sports and tourism and the highlights of the Vietnam Pavilion.
Minister Sheikh Abdullah was also invited to enjoy a water puppet show and a performance of traditional Vietnamese music. He was particularly impressed with Vietnamese traditional musical instruments and asked to hear more solo dan bau and personally try out the stone and Klong-put instruments.
He also praised the Vietnam Pavilion as one of the impressive destinations at EXPO 2020 thanks to the friendliness of the staff, artists and the rich cultural story imbued with national identity.
Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan is a son of the founder of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He has many times to visit and work in Vietnam.
In the context of good relations between the two countries, cooperation in culture, sports and tourism is also constantly being promoted. Recently, on the occasion of Vietnam National Day at EXPO 2020 (December 30, 2021), the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation.
From 15-24 March 2022, Vietnam will joint Sikka Art and Design Festival. This will be a good chance to introduce Vietnamese traditional music to the people of the Middle East and internationally at one of the most prestigious arts festivals in the UAE and the region.
