(TITC) - From 23rd to 25th September, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) will organise the Vietnam Tourism and Cinema Roadshow in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, USA, under the theme “Vietnam - The new destination of World Cinema”. The Vietnam Tourism and Cinema Roadshow in the States is a highlight in the 2024 promotion plan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During the Roadshow, MOCST will hold many sideline activities to promote the image of Vietnam, connecting with American partners. Here, MOCST will set a Space to introduce the country, people and culture of Vietnam, including the pavilions of MOCST and other localities, businesses, 93 artworks by photographer Tran Tuan Viet on display promoting the beauty of landscapes and cultural characteristics of ethnic groups and destinations in Vietnam.
The main character of the Roadshow will be the Workshop to introduce the potential of Vietnam Tourism - Cinema. The event is expected to attract the participation of government representatives, management agencies, producers, film studio directors, directors, film set directors, Hollywood stars, the US Travel Association, marketing partners, press media units, reporters, journalists, KOLs, and bloggers from the United States. At the Workshop, Vietnam will show off its beauty, people and culture, brilliant footage filmed in Vietnam, an overview of Vietnam's mechanisms and policies to facilitate international filmmakers; specific support and incentive commitments from localities and businesses…

Also, a signing ceremony of cooperation between localities, Vietnamese enterprises and US partners will take place. Delegates and guests will enjoy a special traditional Vietnamese art programme performed by artists from the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre.
Additionally, as per schedule, the Vietnamese delegation will have bilateral meetings with leaders of Google Asia Pacific, leaders of Los Angeles City government, and leaders of Warner Bros. Entertainment to discuss the possibilities to expand cooperation in the future.

The Vietnam Tourism and Cinema Roadshow in the States is an important move of MOCST in celebrating the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States.
Vietnam will introduce and promote its tourist destinations and potential filming locations, attracting Hollywood studios to Vietnam to film great appeal blockbusters, capable of creating international media effects, promoting and attracting tourists to Vietnam.
This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese tourism service providers to meet and connect with US businesses and partners. Strengthening cooperation and exchange; promoting the signing and commitment to effectively implement cooperation agreements on tourism and cinema between relevant agencies, localities, Vietnamese enterprises and US partners, contributing to concretizing and deepening tourism and cinema cooperation between the two countries.
The United States is one of the key markets for Vietnamese tourism, ranking in the top 5 in terms of international visitors to Vietnam, with a growth rate of about 11.5% per year. In 2023, the number of US visitors to Vietnam reached 717 thousand arrivals, recovering about 96% compared to 2019. In the first eight months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed 529,000 US visitor arrivals, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2023. American visitors to Vietnam spend a big amount of money and long stay.
